I realize that each of us has a different interpretation about song lyrics. This is mine about those words. I hear a threat, the possibility of abuse. He's telling her that if she leaves, she's going to regret it one day because he's not going to let her go peacefully. Now that I have, I'll cringe every time I hear the song.
